The story so far in the form of a Graph

Things are looking good. I am ahead of the projected blue line by quite a few days.

This has been through a mixture of offering services and selling 2nd hand stuff lying about my house.

Now i need to develop a drip feed income. My plan for this is an ebook which is partially complete already.

Ebook Side hustle

I have written 38 pages of an eBook on a rather obscure topic that I'm interested in.

If it adds to my daily totals and creates a steady drip of income over the coming year and beyond then we have a result.

Ill post a link when it is finished.

Side hustle gumtree item

Someone bought me a set of ladders for a gift a few years ago and I have never used them.

Time for gum tree. If they sell I get 65 quid.

Well ahead of schedule at the minute. However I am yet to sell anything on gum tree and have double listed the stuff on eBay.

Must be an end of the month/ payday things

Is your Behaviour reflecting your goals?

Goals are fed by behaviours until they pop.

I think that I have gone through a long portion of my life not really realising what a goal actually is and thus my behaviour did not really go along with them.

I have had many fantastical wishes of course like most people and general wants for stuff that pop into my head.

But these are not goals. Usually to far off and to big for the brain to break down into something that achievable. What i have realised that a goal must be something you feel strongly about and this leads on to an effect on your behaviour. If you are attracted to someone you will find that your behaviour suddenly changes to support the goal of getting together with that person.

Emotion plays a huge part. To follow a goal you must become emotionally involved and find very strong reasons on many levels which support the completion.

Of ten it is a good idea to have 1 most important goal. 1 goal is much better than zero goals. Finishing 1 goal successfully feels fantastic. Often I think that people start of well by writing out goals but these goals are forced and they don't have any real emotional involvement in them.

To make a goal you must really want the completion emotionally and it must be attainable in a reasonable time through a simple set of steps. L

ets face it, the goal of this blog is to record my main goal at the moment- to make an extra £10 a day. My brain is constantly thinking of new ways and I feel excited about the possibilities and also the fact that it seems very doable. very simple but worthwhile. I have thought about the benefits to me on many levels which represents the carrot and also the negative impacts on my life if i don't make it. All short term as long term is very hard to motivate for.

Remember your subconscious is quite a primitive thing and it enjoys reward and success but it hates to be overwhelmed. Your conscious and logical brain can know that this can lead to other more sublime benefits and can know that it can be more wide ranging to. Keep it simple keep any goal broken down into tangible and achievable goals which can be gotten quickly.

Behaviour.

What do you do everyday to support your goals. The behaviour of sitting about watching TV never got anyone anything probably. Going out and about and meeting mew people and chancing upn new oppertunities is a different matter and is a good behaviour.

Just simply trying is a good behaviour. Things will never fall into your lap. Luck favours the people who looks for it.

As people say to me all the time you wont win the lottery if you dint do it.

 Good luck.

Possible Benifits of trying this challenge

Why even bother.

What possible benefit can an extra tenner make to a modern life.

Here are my thoughts. Please be aware I am not an expert.

 1. Practice at seeing money making opportunity. Mental exercise.

 2. get better at selling stuff by well selling stuff.

 3. Make me more aware of the value of money because i have to worry about such a mall unit the rest will look after its self.

 4. Get better at making a tenner and maybe next year I can increase this amount to £15, the year after £20.....then up and up.

 5. A great sense of achievement from making money.

 6. a great sense of achievement when i make a bigger score and get ahead.

 7. learn valuable lessons to pass onto my children. Imagine if you had of done this from an early age.

 8. pay off a few bills, maybe buy myself something I have always wanted without touching the wage or savings.

 9. Feel a little more secure in my life by having a safety net.

10. Create a mildly entertaining blog.

 11. Ill think on it....

More gear on Gumtree

I listed two more items of unwanted kit on GUMTREE with a potential gain of £70. This sort of challenge really focuses the mind to a lazer point. I am constantly looking about for potential tenners. Hopefully somebody bites.

25th March 2018

Got my £225.

I'm winning. Sweet!

I'm now about 17 days ahead of target. Can't ask for more than that.

No sales on items yet. Listing more tonight.

March 24th finally I score

Did a spot of freelance, using exisitin skills to make an extra few quid. Between today and tomorrow I will generate £225 which puts me ahead by £175. ( before tax, which I will pay through self assesment next year.)

It's good to be ahead and doing something positive with a set goal.

23rd lowered price of my current two items

Dropped the price on my two items. Facebook and guntree to get a sale.

22nd March camera bag on gumtree

List a very new looking lowePro camera bag for 20 quid on gum tree. Good descriptions and lots of photos. That's 2 days quite of it sells.

21st March. Inventory

Went round my house listing things to sell and for quite an impressive list of stuff I no longer use.

Lots of outdoor gear.
Some weird items I have found.

20th March. Stuck some outdoor gear on a Facebook group

Put 1 item of outdoor gear on a specialist Facebook selling page for 100 quid. Waiting for it to sell. Rrp for the item is 170. My price includes lots of good pictures.

The story so far. How much extra income have I made until this date.

Start!!!! 19th of March 2018.

Today I drew up my spreadsheet to track this challenge. No £10 generated today but I am happy that I'm moving forward.

What is this blog about?

I'm skint. I have to make a bit of money on the side. A side hustle as they are called or preferably many. An idea came to me to break the goal down to something simple into it's bare bones. It's essence. Simply make £10 extra income a day. A mini win goal everyday. The challenge started on 19th March 2018 and will finish on 18th March 2019. The goal is to have £3600 banked. The rules are simple and I had great joy in drawing up a spreadsheet, is this sad? Its an excellent spreadsheet indeed.
Everyday I must enter the extra income I have made or steps ( behaviours) i have taken. Hopefully by the end of each month it will average at least £10 a day. At LEAST!!!! 10 quid a day adds up to £3600 which iss not to be sniffed at. This would buy a car or a holiday or pay off a good portion of a debt. 10 pounds should be easy to make.its doable and didn't feel an overwhelming or impossible amount to achieve. So how the hell will I do it. 1. Sell shit. I have huge amounts of unused stuff around my house which like everyone else I don't fucking need. Sell it on eBay. Gum tree. Facebook. Person to person. Who cares. Liquidation is the key. 2. Earn money through my part time side business. I teach outdoor skills to people who want to know more. For this I can charge. Time is the factor but I intend to ramp it up. 3. Make something which can tick over in the background. This blog. An ebook. YouTube etc. 4. Beg. Busking but I can't sing or play an instrument, some would say that i am musically ungifted. money quid down the sofa or on the street. It will all be recorded. 5. Windfall money. Birthday money. Xmas money. Anytime I get something I was not expecting I will save it.
