Goals are fed by behaviours until they pop.
I think that I have gone through a long portion of my life not really realising what a goal actually is and thus my behaviour did not really go along with them.
I have had many fantastical wishes of course like most people and general wants for stuff that pop into my head.
But these are not goals. Usually to far off and to big for the brain to break down into something that achievable.
What i have realised that a goal must be something you feel strongly about and this leads on to an effect on your behaviour. If you are attracted to someone you will find that your behaviour suddenly changes to support the goal of getting together with that person.
Emotion plays a huge part.
To follow a goal you must become emotionally involved and find very strong reasons on many levels which support the completion.
Of ten it is a good idea to have 1 most important goal. 1 goal is much better than zero goals. Finishing 1 goal successfully feels fantastic.
Often I think that people start of well by writing out goals but these goals are forced and they don't have any real emotional involvement in them.
To make a goal you must really want the completion emotionally and it must be attainable in a reasonable time through a simple set of steps. L
ets face it, the goal of this blog is to record my main goal at the moment- to make an extra £10 a day. My brain is constantly thinking of new ways and I feel excited about the possibilities and also the fact that it seems very doable. very simple but worthwhile.
I have thought about the benefits to me on many levels which represents the carrot and also the negative impacts on my life if i don't make it.
All short term as long term is very hard to motivate for.
Remember your subconscious is quite a primitive thing and it enjoys reward and success but it hates to be overwhelmed. Your conscious and logical brain can know that this can lead to other more sublime benefits and can know that it can be more wide ranging to.
Keep it simple keep any goal broken down into tangible and achievable goals which can be gotten quickly.
Behaviour.
What do you do everyday to support your goals. The behaviour of sitting about watching TV never got anyone anything probably. Going out and about and meeting mew people and chancing upn new oppertunities is a different matter and is a good behaviour.
Just simply trying is a good behaviour. Things will never fall into your lap. Luck favours the people who looks for it.
As people say to me all the time you wont win the lottery if you dint do it.
Good luck.
